The Borrowers was based on a novel by Mary Norton. The story focuses upon the Clock family; a family of tiny people who "borrow" items from humans.
The Borrowers was first shown in the UK in 1992 and was shown on the BBC. It starred Ian Holm as the head of the family (Pod Clock). In 1997 a theatrical movie adaptation was created starring John Goodman as an evil lawyer, Jim Broadbent as the head of the Borrowers family and Celia Imrie as his wife.
