Based upong the legendary Japanese series Kagaku ninja tai Gatchaman (literally - Scientific Ninja Troop Gatchaman) - usually referred to as Gatchaman or G-Force.
Battle of the Planets was adapted from the original 105 episodes into 85 episodes with many alterations targetted to the US market.
