The Care Bears started off in 1981 as a greetings card design and were turned into plush toys in 1983 by Kenner. The Care Bears cartoon series started in 1985 and ran until 1988, producing 101 episodes. Two Care Bears animated movies were made, and the characters were brought back in 2007 for a new TV series.
