Spooky Soldier in window???

Does anyone remember the name of the show where some kids went to stay in this lighthouse type place by the sea (possibly haunted/time-travel involved) and in one scene a soldier in a uniform a bit like the character 'Sharpe' wears walks past the window and glares in? Remember it being incredibly scary at the time. Think that there was also some sort of stone monument in the garden. Think it was a short series of only a handful of episodes.

Oh and it wasn't a one-off episode of Goosebumps as it would have preceded that by about 5 or more years...so I'm thinking early 90's

The only show I know that featured kids living in a lighthouse, where spooky things happened and it was in the 1990's was 'Round the twist'

Round The Twist was one of my favourite shows so I'd have remembered that easily plus it was definately a British show. I discovered 'Moondial' on YouTube and thought it could have been an episode or scene of that? But couldn't find it amongst the clips available

The only show that fits the decription is the preveously stated 'Round the twist' it was on during the 90's and featured in a town with the main family living in the light house and there were one or two "scary" episodes in the series and several invoved ghosts.
